Bunco Resumes in September!
August 27th, 2008 by Admin
Bunco is sponsored by the Fr. Murphy Assembly and is usually played on the second Sunday of the month. Please consider a fun evening out with your lady on Sunday, 14 September 2008. Bunco is open to Council members, parishioners, and membership guests. The Bunco evening starts with refreshments and a social from 6:30 PM to 7 PM. The game begins at 7 PM and goes to about 9 PM. The game in September will be held in the K of C room. There is always lots of fun and laughs. The Assembly provides beverages and all you need to do is bring some finger food to share with the gang (homemade or store-bought is equally OK, either snacks or desserts). There is a small charge of $5 per player. Money raised (after prizes are awarded to those who played) will go to the Assembly to support their many patriotic projects around the community.
For those unfamiliar with Bunco, it is a game of dice, played in rounds. Players take turns rolling the dice and trying to accumulate as many points as possible to win each round. The game is played at tables of four in competing teams of two.
Players score points by rolling three dice and trying to match the number they’re supposed to roll for that round. They get a point for each die that rolls the number, and if all three roll the number they score 21 points. They also score 5 points for rolling three of a kind of any other number. They get to keep rolling as long as they score one or more points with each roll. Once they fail to score they pass the dice to their left and the opposing team gets a chance to score.
