Knights of Columbus Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest

The K of C is sponsoring an essay contest which is open to all parishioners in grades 8 – 12.

This years theme:
Discuss how trusting in God during a difficult time has helped you or someone you know find the strength and hope to endure it. Consider especially those times when it was a challenge to understand why something was happening. Consider also sharing any lessons about faith and hope you or someone you know may have learned from this experience.
Winners at the Parish level will receive a cash prize (to be determined) and have their essay submitted to the District for additional competition.

Entries, along with the Essay Entry Form should be submitted NOT LATER THAN 15 October
2020 in a sealed envelop with the words: Patriotic Essay Contest written on the outside, and placed in
the K of C mailbox outside the church office.


  • Essays must reflect the assigned theme and be the student’s original work.
  • Essays must be typed and be between 500 and 750 words in length.
  • The student’s name should appear only on the official Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest entry
    form, which must be stapled to the essay.
  • All entries become the property of the Knights of Columbus and will not be returned.
